Somethin’s Cooking in Nha Trang

Day 9

This was not a very exciting day, we packed all our stuff and bought tickets for the bus ride to Nha Trang and Train tickets to Da Nang. Our homestay arranged for a driver to being us to Hoi An.

After packing and buying tickets we went down to the night market in Dalat.

Look at all the fresh snails that they will cook for you!

One lasyt dinner with David and Tracy – Korean Hot Pot dinner.

Day 10

Let the 21 hours of travel begin! 1st a bus ride to Nha Trang.

If you’re going to travel for almost 24 hours you will need snacks! I didn;t buy the pringles but it was worth a picture, hmm haven’t seen that flavor before.

Okay so the bread was interesting, it was not corn-bread or anything special, it was just bread, and yet, we couldn’t stop eating it. A few hours after the bread was gone, Leah looks at me and says “I wish we had some more of that bread” lol. I decided that they were grossly underselling it, the label needs to read “Highly addictive, Best Plain Bread in the World!”

Short Pitstop in Nha Trang

Notice that the roads were totally flooded in some spots.

Leah chose an art gallery that was run by 2 westerners. OMG Bacon Cheese Fries and Grilled Meats! Yeah, we chilled here for the whole 5 hour layover. I’m not sure if the hand was meant to be for a size comparison or if I couldn’t wait long enough to take the photo before eating the bacon.

We were so tired we forgot to take pictures of the train, it was old and pretty gross, there was a rubbery mattress to sleep on and a pillow. There were 2 western travelers in our room, but we survived.

Day 10

Our Taxi picked us us and drove us the 45 minutes to the Volar Homestay in Hoi An.
Super comfy. I was in search of a soft mattress and pillows. We found it. The balcony is our room. Whopping $18 dollars a night.

As we walked to breakfast, there was some work being done on the telephone poll nearby. Also there were some interesting guys next to us as we ate breakfast.

Instead of sleeping the whole day we decided to brave another Spa and see if it could rival Cat Moc.

This one starts by soaking and then washing your feet, the massage was very good. Let’s not focus on how often we frequent the spa, and just say that if Vietnamese Spa’s had punch cards we’d have a couple free ones by now.

Leah bought some fresh fruit from a street vendor. oh and she found a tiny puppy.
To end our 1st day in Hoi An we found ate some Stone-Baked Pizza, Tiramisu, and a Banana Crape. They were all out of banana’s but fortunate for me Leah bought some banana’s so they used one of ours.

That’s it for Hoi An day 1, more to come soon!
