Close enough was not … close enough

Day-5

We were able to go to the Special 1 Day at a Hotel.
There are actually 3 separate rooms that are used. Also a small Chinese and English program were held in additional rooms. The Hotel setup a huge tent for us to eat lunch under. Good thing too, because it poured rain half way through lunch.

Leah made a new friend she is in the Red Ao dai. I look horribly fat in the picture but am not in very many pics so I added it anyway. Was really tempted to crop myself out but a pic of Jayson, Leah and sister in red might raise questions. lol.

It was cool to see that they now have the same A/V equipment that we use in the states!

From the backseat of a Grab (like Uber but different) I snapped this photo of an interesting billboard.

After the 1 Day, I was able to have dinner with Cô Thai and her son Jimmy that I know from Dallas. It was raining so I paid for the Grab Car instead of a Grab Bike, that way I could be dry when I got to their house for dinner, or so I thought.

The address I needed was 281/4/4 Binh Loi. The driver followed his GPS and said we arrived. I texted Jimmy and found out their house has a white gate and a bench outside but did not see it. We drove around a few more minutes. Finally the driver decided it was close enough and I would have to find it. So I paid him and got out. Mistake!

I wandered up and down and asked anyone walking if they knew where 281/4/4 was, nothing. Now i’m soaked, might as well have jumped in a pool. I called Jimmy again and he tried to walk me though the directions, no idea where to go. Finally Jimmy had to get the motor bike out, get all his rain gear on and drive to find me. THANK YOU JIMMY!
Lesson of this story:

Close enough was Not Close enough!

After all that, we had a yummy dinner that Cô Thai made. She has 2 dogs 1 is a Pomeranian and the other a Chihuahua.

So its Sunday here which will be Day 6. The plan is to take the night bus to Da Lat. I’m not so sure that is gonna happen today since the website says they are sold out, either way the next post will probably be from the city of Da Lat.

  2. Looks like a lot of fun man, and shocker – you are wearing a tie! If you don’t smuggle some beer back for me, I’ll be disappointed. Through haggling, how many stores do you own now?
