Here are some highlights from the week before convention.

We were welcomed warmly as we arrived to tour Bethel in Emmen!

Delicious drinks to keep us hydrated.

They even played really nice music for us.

There was an opportunity to paint a flower if you liked.

LDC built a photo booth and rest lounge.

Old school tools used for making wooden shoes.

The shipping department works very hard.
There was a game to see who could pack all the parcels in the crate first. I think it’s easy to see who the expert packer is.

The purchasing department shared candy. Yum!

These machines print Braille literature. They are insulated to keep the sound to a minimum. It was heart warming to hear that they print Braille even though there are only 4 blind publishers in the Netherlands. Each one of them matters to Jehovah!

Anyone know this robot? Lol

I geeked out over the computer department. This is an example of what they can ship to a Remote Translation Office (RTO), in Africa for example. It all comes preprogrammed and hooked up. Complete with a switch, server and Wireless Access Point. All they have to do is plug in power and internet.
Very cool!

We even went back in time to the 90s.

There were a few relics from the past as well.

As well as a new test product. JW Box. This allows for a wireless network to be setup during meetings even though the Kingdom Hall has no internet. Then people can wirelessly download all the publications in their language. The literature servant just needs to take it home and connect it to internet 1x per month to keep it up to date.

This one is using a small router and external hard drive but in places like Africa they use an SD card instead for portability.

They did not want our bus to leave. Warm good bye as well.
We also did a canal tour in the city of Utretch. We started at a local Kingdom Hall near the river.

This was our tour boat. Some of the bridges were very low.

The special part was the local friends had timed the canal tour so they would run ahead and wait for us to pass under the bridges.

It was shared that they received a few odd looks in recent weeks as they practiced going from bridge to bridge and practiced waving. So loving!
Next post will follow soon: Doornenberg Castle!
